Everything is fine here since we have seen the pictures and have heard that the Big Lake seems OK. The two pecan trees at Big Lake did not make it. There may be floor damage but the person who gave me the report was not sure.
Marion suggests that the largest selection of chain saws can be had on the web at Bailey's. It may be possible to get it expressed to Austin. He said, and Cedric agrees, that the shortest to be considered is 32inch. Cedric said the saws we have could not handle the trees in Sugartown.
Cedric will be going to the house tomorrow for some of his papers and will check on the size of the water pump. Since it is 20 years old the whole pump may as well be replaced.
Have contacted the insurance adjustor. She plans on being in L.C. on Tuesday. I told her I would check on getting together with her but do want to be careful about going back too soon because of the trees. She appreciated the pictures of the house. It will be a big help.

More news. Nanette is back home and has power!
She suggests large gas cans of fuel for generator--check with her to see what size generator she has.The generator Nanette has may be the only thing we need for short term. If she has power we may not be far behind since they are working from the south side of town. Fuel is still in short supply but by the time you are ready to come it may have improved. Also, eggs. May be wise to bring a some fresh produce with you. You may need even more things to eat but am sure you can check on the situation before you come since Nanette can tell you what to expect. They are moving very well getting things back to normal. Some stores in L.C. are open.

Mitch will arrive in Austin tomorrow (10/02/2005). We plan to round up suppies on Monday and set out for Lake Charles Tuesday morning.
Hopefully, one item we will be shopping for is a new well pump.
